The project involves the renovation and enlargement of a typical countryside farmhouse as a restaurant. The existing building had a main three-storey high volume and a one-storey plus attic annex. The main volume had a strong character given by the quality of the brick and stone work of the outside walls. The intervention maintained the main south facade untouched, inserting new windows on the north facade. The original stone roof trim was maintained, together with the chimney the dormer and all the typical elements. The facade original stone-brick texture remained visible making all the insulation work from the inside.

On the interior new passageways were open to adapt the rooms to the new function of restaurant. Floors were replaced with a same-as-original wood beams and boards structure. Also, the roof has been replaced with respect to the original wood one, inserting the adequate thermal insulation and waterproofing. The final layout of the main volume has dining area on ground and first floor and an apartment for the manager on the third floor. The new part was realized enlarging the annex with a roof in continuation to the existing one and creating an open porch to dine outside. In the new part there are the kitchen, storage, toilets and a private dining room.
