The project involves the refurbishment and enlargement of a stone farmhouse as holiday house on a panoramic piece of land in the countryside close to Ostuni (Brindisi). The new part is connected to the existing with a low glazed volume acting as an entrance-lobby, from whom you enter the living/kitchen/dining area being a unique open-space. On south and west side of the living area a porch protects the extensive glazing from sun radiation and provides a protected space to enjoy the exterior.

The existing stone structure was organized in seven vaulted rooms, these will be restored as the night-area of the house consisting of two bedrooms, three bathrooms and a studio/cellar. The existing volume and the new create together a central patio-courtyard from whom is possible to access the roof-terrace with a stair. On the north side of the house the pool area with exterior kitchen and gazebo to dine outside. We choose to give the new volume the clean image of traditional white plaster finishing, in contrast with the local stone walls of the existing farmhouse.
