The school has been conceived together with the exterior spaces in order to create an integrated "campus" with outside spaces for learning and playing. Interior learning facilities are flexible and innovative. All the classrooms facing south have a balcony for open-air lessons and they are separated by movable walls to join for flexible layout. The central double height hall is a space for informal meeting, active learning and play and gives access to all the classrooms. The building has been conceived as a NZEB according to LEED standards, featuring: high performance building shell; flexible interior climate control with radian ceiling, heat-pump and HVAC; building automation system and monitoring; sustainable water management with rain and gray water recovery; green roof; sun radiation screens; LED + DALI lighting and self-energy production with 150 PV solar panels.
