The municipality of St. Martin in Passeierhas banished a competition that provides for the realization of an integrated center for all sports activities in the area to be a reference point for the whole community. To achieve this objective, several factors and complexities must be considered: the irregular shape of the area on which to build, the articulated altitude, the small space available and the integration of different functions and with discontinuous and seasonal uses. The project is a rational response to these requirements that reorders, sews and integrates the existing functions and, at the same time, gives an added value to the Sports center and but city of St. Martin.

The new volume develops in the east-west direction, from the SS44 to the Passeier river, dividing the sport area in two: the area for the swimming pool to the north and the area for tennis courts to the south. The building partially develops on two floors, with the terrace for the cafeteria on the roof of the first floor. The latter is the central element of the project that enhances the field view to beach volleyball/hockey on north side, to the tennis courts on the south side and to the Panorama on the river and the mountains to the east. To give a "guiding element" to the image of the project we chose to use two materials, identifiable and recognizable: the red-porphyry cement for the sports center and for the retaining walls of external spaces and the "champagne" colored aluminum for windows profiles, parapets and all metal works.
